Last year there was some discussion amongst the ISRT Board members to look into the possibility of redistricting the ISRT. At the present time there are 13 areas of which 6 have shown little if any activity. An ad hoc committee was formed to look into this. The committee members are Tracy Kimler, Nancy Harney, and acting chairperson Dan Wolf. The expectation is that the active districts would include the facilities within their new boundaries on any mailings or other communications regarding meetings or activities within the district. After much discussion at the April ISRT Board meeting, it was proposed that these changes go into effect on October 1, 2010 if approved by the board.
The purpose of the redistricting would be:
1. To combine inactive districts with active districts to improve communication and education.
2. Meet ASRT requirements (elimination of inactive districts so that ISRT remains in compliance with the ASRT)
3. Insure that if a formerly inactive district wishes to reactivate, the ISRT would assist those districts in meeting the requirements of both the ISRT and the ASRT.
