Annual Dues: Technologists - $10 Students - $5
Meeting time is 6:30 unless otherwise noted. The educational presentations will be extended to either 1 ½ or 2 hrs and be worth 1.5 or 2 CEUs.
Memberships are due at the August meeting and are valid through July. Dues may be paid at any district meeting; however, CEU points are awarded to paid members only.

August 15th 2007
The August 15th 2007 meeting of the East Central District was called to order at 6:30pm at the St luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa by President Jill Hagerman.
Secretary’s Report: The minutes from the May 16th 2007 meeting were read and approved
Treasurer’s Report:

Old Business:
v State meeting update: State meeting will be held September 20th -22nd. Board meeting will be held September 19th. Discussion of the 2007 theme of James Bond with Casino Royale for the Thursday night party featuring casino games with play money and the option to obtain prizes with your winnings. There is a sign up sheet that will be passed around if you are interested in helping with this years meeting, please include your name and phone number.
v ECD board is recommending increasing the speaker honorarium to $100.00 for a 1.5-2.0 CEU lecture. Motion made to increase to honorarium was made by Roxanne Pospisil and seconded. Motion carried.
New Business:
v Registration information: Membership dues are $5.00 for Students, $10.00 for technologists. Dues must be paid in order to receive credit for tonight’s lecture.

v The District is asking for a representative from Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids to arrange the February meeting: Ryan Bruns volunteered for that position, thank you.
v President Jill Hagerman read an article that St Luke’s Hospital Imaging Services Director Dennis Winders wrote after the loss of a fellow technologist in June. She discussed plans for a Scholarship Fund in the name of Shelly Williams. This Scholarship will be available to students or technologists. There was no opposition to this initiative. We observed a moment of silence.
v Next meeting will be November 14th @ 6:30PM University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City
v Tonight’s speaker: Dr. Laura Hemann, Barium and Beyond: An Overview of Abdominal Imaging worth 1.5 hours of credit
v Motion for adjournment and seconded, meeting adjourned at 6:58PM
