| The national professional organization of
radiologic technologists certified by the ARRT. The
purpose of the Society is "to advance the
professions of radiation and imaging specialties;
maintain high standards of education; enhance the quality
of patient care; and to further the welfare and socioeconomics
of radiologic technologists". A. Membership
1. Active
Certified by the ARRT (or its equivalent) or holding
unrestricted licenses under state statute.
2. Associate
Works in the radiologic sciences in roles other than
clinical.
3. Student
Enrolled in an accredited radiologic technology
program.
4. Inactive
Retired or temporarily out of the profession.
B. Provides
1. Continuing
education and publications
a. national and
regional conferences
b. "Radiologic Technology",
"Wavelength" and "Scanner"
2. Approves continued
education and monitors approved courses in Evidence
of Continuing Education (ECE) program.
3. Provides funds for
lawyers and lobbyists to assure radiologic
technologists are being well- represented and
protected in the Federal Government.
